Burrage House ca. 1942

Russell Burrage (1889-1957)

Russell Burrage was the third child of Albert Cameron Burrage (known as A.C.), a Massachusetts copper magnate and attorney.  A.C. Burrage had a magnificaent house built in the back-bay which still stands to this day (and still bears the name the "Burrage House."  Russell Burrage was an avid coin collector, particularly of Roman gold.  The bulk of his collection was sold by Ars Classica in October 1934.  Some lesser pieces were also sold that same year by J.C. Morgenthau in New York, with Wayte Raymond as expert.
